Substance abuse is assuming viral dimensions in the society resulting in breaking down of families and thus generating destitution of its members apart from sapping creativity of the youth therein. Realising its gravity Ashraya moved to JANBODHAN programme- an on-going campaigning against substance abuse for the last two decades. The message of the hazards of substance abuse is driven mainly in the minds of school children as they would make tomorrow’s society. A street play carrying the message of hazards of substance abuse is enacted by the inmates of Sisubhavan at the school premises. It commences on the World Tobacco Day on 31 May and lasts till 06 July of every year.The team visited over 100 schools during 2015-16 and its culmination was a huge Rallyof over 3000 members consisting of the students of Kottarakkara education district, student police, NCC, Scoutsand Guides, Red Cross, Jana Maithri Police, Residential Association, KudumbaSree, and bigwigs from Political, Police, socio-cultural fields.
